It's not uncommon for us to have at least one déjà vu moment on the runways each season — fashion is cyclical, after all. But, sometimes the "inspiration" one designer gets from another is particularly blatant, as was the case at the Emanuel Ungaro show on Monday in Paris.

As the collection walked, the Wall Street Journal's Christina Binkley tweeted a cryptic comment about the above red silk dress, to which DKNY PR Girl -- a.k.a. Aliza Licht, senior vice president of global communications at Donna Karan -- immediately responded with the below:

Indeed, the dress -- which features a deep V neckline, cape-like sleeves that hang from the shoulders and an up-to-there slit -- very closely recalls the red gown that Karlie Kloss wore during the Donna Karan New York fall 2014 show (which, if you're so inclined, you can buy right now on Shopbop for $3,595). This isn't the first time we've done a runway double take this season: At Balmain's spring 2015 show, Olivier Rousteing presented a white suit that was nearly identical in cut to one of Alexander McQueen's creations for Givenchy Couture in 1997.

Do you think DKNY was justified in calling out the French house, or is this merely a sartorial coincidence?
