The Duchess of Cambridge went against the grain — or perhaps we should say, the green — for St. Patrick's Day this year. After three consecutive years wearing a green coat for the Irish holiday, she went with head-to-toe brown on Tuesday to attend a parade at Mons Barrack in Aldershot, England. Specifically, she wore a Catherine Walker coat, Lock & Co hat and Emmy London suede shoes. Her only festive accoutrements were a bundle of shamrocks and a gold Irish Guards brooch that once belonged to the Queen Mother.

Don't worry, though — the Duchess hasn't pulled a total 180 on us. She kept up her tradition of recycling items on St. Patrick's Day, wearing the same hat and shoes she wore in 2012, and that same brooch she pins on year after year. Not to mention, she's been really into monochromatic looks lately. Pretty exciting.

Of course, there's no way of knowing what she has going on underneath the coat (besides a growing fetus), but we still hope someone gave her a light pinch.
