Now that the entertainment industry's awards season is over, it's time to enter Fashion Awards Season, as we're now calling it. Earlier this week, the CFDA announced the nominees for the 2015 CFDA Awards, and on Tuesday, Woolmark named the winner of its International Prize for Womenswear. Wednesday brings news from Paris, where LVMH has just announced the eight finalists for its second annual LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.

The eight have been narrowed down from a shortlist of 26, each of whom presented their wares to industry veterans including Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere and Delphine Arnault at a cocktail event during Paris Fashion Week. Sadly, none of the New York-based darlings from the shortlist, like Orley and Ryan Roche, made the final cut. But it's still a pretty good list: Arthur Arbesser is one of our favorite up-and-comers from Milan; London's Craig Green is a favorite of Rei Kawakubo's; Virgil Abloh, the American designer behind Milan-based label Off-White, is also Kanye West's creative director; and Paris-based Vetements has become an obsession of many an industry insider. Each finalist will meet the jury, comprised of nine creative directors from LVMH houses, on May 22, when the winner will be named. He or she will receive €300,000 and a year of mentorship from LVMH.

Here's the full list:
