Just in time for Friday's theatrical release of "Dior and I," a documentary about the creation of Raf Simons's first couture collection for the house, Dior is making its red carpet presence felt more strongly than ever. Just last week, our own best dressed roundup included four Dior looks, and there were more than that to choose from. This week, the red carpet was quite Dior-heavy as well. And that's been no accident.

In mid-March, the company announced that Rihanna would be its new campaign star and — surprise! — Rihanna stepped out in two Dior looks and one Raf Simons jacket in the following weeks. On March 31, Dior sponsored the Mid-Winter Gala, a fundraiser for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, which brought out Kate Bosworth, Kate Mara and Suki Waterhouse among others — all decked out Dior, of course. The house also held two red carpet premieres for the film (in London and New York), bringing out the chicest "It" girls from both cities, including Daisy Lowe and Lake Bell, both of whom happen to look great in Dior.

But in between those sponsored events, a number of ladies chose Dior, seemingly on their own accord: Lily James wore the label at least four times during her promotional tour for "Cinderella," and ladies like Charlize Theron and Britt Robertson have also worn it recently (and looked lovely doing so).

Clearly, the brand has made red carpet dressing an integral part of its marketing strategy, and it's working, especially now that we're seeing its dresses on a wide array of women. While we all love Jennifer Lawrence, her contract-dictated, constant wearing of Dior gowns had begun to reach a saturation point. We feel like Rihanna, on the other hand, will find ways to make the house's wares her own.
