Any fashion designer with a good amount of industry cred — or a convincing amount of cash — can attract young celebrities to his or her runway show during fashion week, but it takes a real icon to bring out the best-known A-listers above the age of 40. Giorgio Armani celebrated the 40th anniversary of his label (as well as the opening of his Silos museum) in Milan on Thursday with a special runway show and reception that attracted some major star power from the last few generations.

Armani's expertly tailored suits and elegant eveningwear (including many memorable gowns from his 10-year-old Armani Privé couture collection) have been red carpet favorites for decades, so it's not surprising that the designer has so many powerful Hollywood fans. It's not often that the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Glenn Close and Tina Turner are spotted in the front row these days, but these legendary names, and many others, flew to Milan to show their support for the 80-year-old designer.

Read on to see the best of the guest list at Armani's anniversary bash.
