Not five months after the tragic death of David Bowie, music lost yet another of its inimitable greats. On Thursday afternoon, TMZ reported that Prince (née Prince Rogers Nelson) had passed away at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota at age 57; his publicist confirmed the news soon after. Beginning with the release of his debut album, "Prince," in October 1979, the artist went on to leave an immeasurable imprint in the worlds of music, fashion and beyond. His bold, often effeminate aesthetic became iconic. As trends changed, and as he evolved personally, Prince's style signatures, from ruffled blouses to eyeliner, remained. Not only did they become ingrained into his DNA as an artist, but they also influenced generations of stylists, designers, editors and fellow musicians along the way.
