Last week, Tory Burch laid off around 100 employees — around 3 percent of its workforce — as part of a restructuring strategy to invest more in  Tory Sport, technology and "hiring people with the requisite skills and experience for the right jobs." {WWD}

Rebecca Minkoff to present spring, rather than fall, collection at NYFW

Rebecca Minkoff will once again show her spring 2016 collection — rather than her fall 2016 collection — at New York Fashion Week in February in the hopes of driving spring retail sales. Minkoff isn't the only designer questioning the current fashion schedule; Thomas Tait is foregoing a runway show this season, and Proenza Schouler announced that it won't release images of its pre-fall collection until clothes are actually available in stores. {WWD}

Christian Louboutin casts first plus-size model for lipstick campaign

French-born plus-size model Clementine Desseaux is the star of Christian Louboutin's newest social media lipstick campaign. The 27-year-old model, who moved from Paris to New York three years ago to find more opportunities as a plus-size model, told the Daily Mail: "They are opening up to all the beauty that is in the world and not only the European, blonde, skinny, white woman type." {Daily Mail}

Adidas unveils concept sneaker made of ocean plastic

To coincide with climate summit in Paris, Adidas and Parley for the Oceans, a non-governmental organization raising awareness about ocean plastic pollution, unveiled a sneaker prototype made of recycled gill nets and other ocean waste. Adidas isn't the only company that has used recycled ocean plastic past year; back in April, Pharrell and G-Star RAW teamed up for the world's first denim line made of discarded ocean plastic. {Business of Fashion}
