Madonna is being sued after she decided to “discontinue” plans to build a school for girls in Malawi.

The ‘Celebration’ hitmaker is the subject of legal action by eight workers – who were fired when the singer replaced the board of directors with a caretaker panel – who are seeking compensation for unpaid wages after she terminated plans to build an academy in the African country through her Raising Malawi foundation.

Lawyer Mzondi Chirambo said: “Their employment was terminated by the trustees of Raising Malawi Academy for Girls ostensibly following the change of plan not to build the school as planned.

“My clients are also being forced to sign a discriminatory termination agreement before they are paid their benefits.

“We are claiming unpaid salary and benefits. The workers live here. The court will decide. It’s not our policy to comment further.”

Mr. Chirambo added that one of his clients is Dr. Anjimile Oponyo, the school’s recently sacked CEO and says the singer – who pledged to build the school when she adopted son David, now five, from the country in 2006 – has 14 days to respond to the lawsuit.

Meanwhile, Michael Berg – who co-founded the charity Rasing Malawi with the pop star – and the Kabbalah Center International in Los Angeles, were named in an unrelated recent lawsuit alleging mismanagement of funds intended for children’s education in Los Angeles.

A wealthy California woman sued Mr. Berg, his family and the center last month claiming she made a $498,000 donation to create an organization for children to learn about Kabbalah which never materialized, the New York Daily News reports.

While in New York, a federal grand jury is reportedly investigating finances connecting the Berg family, the Kabbalah Center and Raising Malawi .

As well as David, Madonna also adopted now six-year-old Mercy from Malawi in 2009, joining her other children Lourdes, 14, and Rocco, 10.

Beyonce Knowles has dropped her father Mathew as her manager.

The ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ hitmaker – who has been guided by him since she first began her career in girl band Destiny’s Child in the late 1990s – is “grateful” for her dad’s backing but now wants to separate their personal and professional relationship.

She said in a statement: “I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage me and own their own businesses. They are hard working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.

“He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”

Mathew claimed the decision for him to stop managing Beyonce was “mutual”.

In a statement, he claimed he is still supporting his daughter and continued to be “very proud of who she is”.

He said: “The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment.

“Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and I am very proud of who she is and all she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”

Recently the 29-year-old beauty was criticized for accepting money from Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi to perform a private gig on New Year’s Eve 2009.

Although she donated the money she earned to the earthquake-stricken Caribbean nation of Haiti, she also blamed her father for the move.

She said: “Ultimately, Matthew Knowles should be accountable for that decision, and I do accept responsibility.”

Penelope Cruz is to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 36-year-old beauty – who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2009 for her role as Maria Elena in ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ – is to receive the 2,436th star from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in recognition of her being the first Spanish actress to win an Academy Award.

Director Rob Marshall will unveil the landmark in front of the iconic El Capitan Theatre on April 1.

The ‘Nine’ star – who recently gave birth to her first child, baby son Leo, with husband Javier Bardem – recently joked that winning an Oscar was like getting the best toy ever.

She said: “My Oscar lives in my house, but it changes rooms all the time. I’m looking at it in different places to make the final decision. I even took it to the beach one day. It’s like being five when you finally get a toy you’ve been asking for.”

However, despite scooping the prestigious accolade, Penelope insisted she doesn’t feel any extra pressure when making her films.

She added: “I’ve always felt under pressure and had a lot of insecurity, so that doesn’t change and I don’t want that to alter. I don’t want to get to the set and feel too secure. I’ve worked for so many years feeling a lot of respect and healthy fear of the work and I don’t feel I can change that now.”

Mila Kunis has defended Natalie Portman‘s dancing in ‘Black Swan’.

The 27-year-old actress – who appeared alongside the Oscar-winning star in the ballet-based thriller – has hit back at claims Natalie’s body double Sarah Lane performed “90 per cent” of the intricate moves used in the movie, saying the brunette beauty “danced her a*s off”.

Mila explained: “Natalie danced her a*s off. I think it’s unfortunate that this is coming out and taking attention away from the praise Natalie deserved and got.

“She’ll tell you that, no, she was not on pointe when she did a fouette turn. No one is going to deny that. But she did do every ounce of every one of her dances.”

The ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ star admitted while every member of the ‘Black Swan’ cast had a dancing double at their disposal, they were only used as a “safety net”.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Mila added: “Her dancing double wasn’t used for everything. It was more like a safety net. If Nat wasn’t able to do something, you’d have a safety net.

“The same thing that I had – I had a double as a safety net. We all did. No one ever denied it.”

Robert Pattinson has “never understood” why men cheat on their wives and girlfriends.

The 24-year-old actor – who is in a relationship with his ‘Twilight’ co-star Kristen Stewart – explained he had grown up believing people can be together for their whole lives, and thinks having to juggle various different women must be “like hell for a man”.

He told Italy’s Vanity Fair magazine: “There is one thing I’ve never understood, why people cheat. My parents met when my mom was 17 and my father 25, they are still together and seem very happy. I grew up believing that you can be together all of your life

“I understand the impulse, but not how you can maintain two relationships for long. And though I understand that cheating can happen to those who have children, because the stress can make people stray, I can’t really understand how someone free of any commitment could possible choose to have four women at the same time. It must be like hell for a man.”

The ‘Water For Elephants’ star recently admitted he has a “romantic soul” and could never have sex with someone he didn’t love.

Robert said: “There is the idea of the saving love, I believe it. I’m not mushy but I have a romantic soul. Having grown up with two older sisters I have a deep respect for women. Sex and feeling for me go hand in hand.

“I’m not interested in casual relationships, I need to know people.”

The actress-and-singer – who was blasted last year when video footage was leaked of her inhaling a substance called salvia through a ‘bong’ device – also explained she is keen to step away from her public persona and show how serious she is about her music career.

Miley added to the Australian Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I don’t lip-sync. I would rather someone say I say like c**p, than have people see me lip-sync.

A Wisconsin man called the police when a pair of strippers failed to show up at his motel room after promising to give him free lap dances.

The man said that he spent $1,000 on lap dances from two exotic dancers at the On The Border gentleman's club. He says the women promised to visit his motel room later in the morning for 'on the house' lap dances.

He told police that he felt he had been cheated when the women didn't show up.

Hope you don't want your money back, Sheen fans.

Although, we wouldn't blame you for trying.

Charlie Sheen's My Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat is Not an Option had a disastrous opening night in Detroit, MI.

The show started out with promise as he told the audience, 'They took my awesome children. They took my sometimes groovy job. They tried to take my brain and my heart and my titanium spine.'

However, instead of giving the audience an honest take on his life, the whole thing just turned into a big mess when Charlie started ranting off from a script and showing clips of his father's films. He was so perplexed by what was going on, he even asked the audience, 'Is anybody else as confused by this sh-t as I am?'

He played an old film that he wrote and directed called RPG, starring Johnny Depp, but when the film didn't go over well, he told the crowd, 'All right so RPG's a bomb. Whatever. Tonight's an experiment.'

He took questions from the audience, but only answered the ones that weren't 'boring.' When someone asked for AA stories, he shot down the suggestion and said he'd talk about crack instead, adding, 'I figured Detroit was a good place to tell crack stories.'

That's when loud boos and shouts of 'You suck!' were heard from the crowd.

Charlie yelled back, "Already got your f—ing money, dude."

He then walked off stage, ending the show early, leaving the audience stunned. One audience member was even heard saying, 'Dude, that was seriously the worst thing I’ve ever witnessed.'

So, the first night of Charlie Sheen's tour was a bust.

Is anyone really surprised??

We don't know what his biggest fans were expecting, but his tour was a train wreck before it even started.

We have a feeling his tour could very well be cut short.
