The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead Story Sync Get Emmy Nominations:

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced this morning the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Award nominations, recognizing The Walking Dead with a repeat nomination for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special -- a category the show has previously won twice. Additionally, AMC.com garnered a nomination in the interactive program category for its two-screen application, The Walking Dead Story Sync.

The nominations are part of 26 garnered by AMC, which ties the network this year with FX for the most nominations of any basic cable network and marks AMC's sixth consecutive year with this distinction. In addition to The Walking Dead's nominations, Mad Men was honored with 12 nominations and Breaking Bad received 13 nods.

Executive Producer and Special Makeup Effects Department Head Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX team -- including Jake Garber, Key Special Makeup Effects Artist; Andy Schoneberg, Special Makeup Effects Artist; Garrett Immel, Special Makeup Effects Artist; Kevin Wasner, Special Makeup Effects Artist; Gino Crognale, Special Makeup Effects Artist; Carey Jones, Prosthetic Designer; and Derek Krout, Prosthetic Designer -- are listed on The Walking Dead's nomination.

The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sun., Sep. 22 at 8/7c on CBS.
