We Have Lukewarm Feelings About Kate Middleton's Latest Look:

We all know you have a hip new stylist, Kate. No need to hit us with sheer polka dots and a belt and a shiny blue skirt and statement earrings. Wednesday night at Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Cambridge cradled her nascent baby bump while wearing a fall 2013 Jenny Packham skirt and Hobbs peplum blouse, and the combination was not quite right.

Over the last few months, Middleton has stepped up her fashion game while retaining a sense of royal restraint. Her boldest looks have been a fitted Temperley London dress with sheer panelling and a knee-baring Jenny Packham baby blue dress, but on both occasions, she let the daring touches shine by keeping the rest of the look simple. I get that the peplum hides the baby bump, but honestly, at this point, why hide it? Stay tuned for her upcoming trip to New York, where Middleton and her stylist will have even more opportunities to get creative.
