Everything About Gisele Bundchen’s Final Runway Show Will Make You Want to Cry

Everything About Gisele Bundchen’s Final Runway Show Will Make You Want to Cry:

On April 15— a day that will hence forth be remembered by model fanatics everywhere—supermodel Gisele Bündchen officially hung up her stilettos after making her final runway appearance at the Colcci show during São Paulo Fashion Week.

In what was an emotional moment for all, the Brazilian supermodel marked the end of era as she hit the runway to strut her stuff in three separate looks before closing the show along with a dozen models wearing band-style tees with her face emblazoned on them.  When she reached the end of the catwalk for her final bow, she drew a standing ovation from the crowd — which included her parents, sisters, and adoring husband, Tom Brady — and was enveloped in a hug from fellow Brazilian-born model Fernanda Tavares.

Of course, given the significance of the show, the mega-model couldn’t help but feel the emotional weight of the occasion.  While performing her signature strut down the runway, Gisele appeared to be fighting back tears with every step she took, and ended the show by clasping her hands together in a sign of gratitude.  If that all weren’t touching enough, her Super Bowl-winning husband also took to Facebook to publicly congratulate “the love of his life” writing, “You inspire me every day to be a better person. I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished on the runway…”

“I have never met someone with more of a will to succeed and determination to overcome any obstacle in the way,” added Tom. “You never cease to amaze me. Nobody loves life more than you and your beauty runs much deeper than what the eye can see. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I love you. ‪#‎GOAT‬ ‪#‎thebestisyettocome.‬”

Prior to her final show, Gisele also took to Instagram to post a sweet farewell note alongside a shot from her first runway show (look, it’s baby Gisele!): “I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business. #firstrunway #14yearsold,” she captioned the nostalgic snap.

Though the Colcci show marks the end of an era for Gisele— her career spans more than two decades, a time period in which she dominated every runway you could possible imagine (see the evidence below) and became the world’s highest-paid supermodel 7 years running — the Brazilian beauty has made it clear that this is not the last we’ll be seeing of her.  The mother of two says she has big plans to expand as an entrepreneur— she currently has her own line of lingerie and flip-flops in Brazil— and will continue to partner with brands like Chanel and Stuart Weitzman on fashion and beauty campaigns.

Whatever she has in store for us, we’re sure it’s going to be nothing less than spectacular. #TeamGisele for life!
