Gigi Hadid lands first Vogue UK cover

While there's no reference to social media on Gigi Hadid's latest magazine cover for Vogue UK (thank goodness), the model does talk about her meteoric rise in fashion and the role of social media in her career in the accompanying interview (sigh). Hadid credits model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne for helping her remain true to herself on social media. "Cara Delevingne was never scared of being weird," she explains. {Vogue UK}

What's going on at Condé Nast?In the last six months, Condé Nast has been going through major changes (most notably, multiple rounds of layoffs) — changes that, according to Lauren Sherman, can be traced back to execs Anna Wintour, Fred Santarpia and Bob Sauerberg, who have each played their own roles in beefing up digital and streamlining the staffs at various publications. {Business of Fashion}

Alessandra Ambrosio allegedly "creeped out" by Maxim founder during cover shootAccording to an unnamed insider, model Alessandra Ambrosio was "creeped out" by Maxim owner Sarda Biglari, "who hung around on the set" during her two-day Maxim cover shoot for the December issue in Monte Carlo. The insider claimed that Ambrosio reluctantly agreed to take a photo with Biglari on a balcony of the Hotel de Paris after being reassured that it was not for publication. The photo was published, and and reps for Ambrosio had no comment on that particular image. {NY Post}

Lawyer Johann Sultan of CBR & Associés claimed that Alber Elbaz was let go for holding "advanced talks" behind Shaw-Lan Wang's back to try to sell Lanvin. Sultan also accused the works council of misinforming and lying to staff. {WWD}
