Think Pink

Think Pink: "

The e-tail revolution has made it easy for anyone and everyone to shop, anytime and in any way—buying Calvins in your Calvins, say. But one segment of the fashion market has remained relatively underserved by the e-commerce boom: vintage.

Enter Jennifer Collins and Megan Freilich of Pink Clouds to change all that. The duo—both of whom work full-time day jobs in fashion, by the way; Collins as a consultant and Freilich as a stylist—have combed the market (and a few of the contacts Freilich picked up as a buyer for several of the city’s best resale stores) to offer a selection of vintage that’s better than anything else we’ve seen yet. The site includes the requisite blog, The Find, which will include content from outside fashion-world types like casting director Natalie Joos, but the highlight here is the product, which includes not only contemporary labels like The Row, Acne, Helmut Lang, and Stella McCartney, but also pieces from fashion’s glorious past. Collins selected a few favorites for the holiday season exclusively for Style.com, from an Arnold Scaasi red cocktail dress (shown with YSL pumps and vintage Givenchy earrings, left) to a beaded Bob Mackie frock (also with YSL pumps, right). Both go on sale among the site’s other offerings this week. Eighties finery in perfect condition—it’s enough to make you forget the seventies for a spell.
