Singer Selena Gomez Sometimes Googles Her 'Horrendous' Old Outfits, Hearst Announces Staff Changes

Selena Gomez Sometimes Googles Her 'Horrendous' Old Outfits, Hearst Announces Staff Changes:

It's not easy growing up famous! Selena Gomez admits to sometimes Googling photos of herself from years past and finding the not-so-stellar outfits that she thought were super cool at the time. If it's any consolation, Selena, everyone had a teenage phase where they thought blue streaks were the bomb. {Into the Gloss}

The political unrest in Hong Kong continues to affect luxury retailers. Stores like Prada and Tod’s said they are watching the situation unfold on an hourly basis and will close stores early if necessary. This could mean big losses for these particular retailers who garner strong revenue numbers from their China-based locations. {Reuters}

Hearst-owned glossy Marie Claire has poached Condé Nast's Catherine Gunderson to be its new managing editor after Nancy Gillen left after just two months. Gunderson, currently the editorial business manager at GQ, has also spent time at big name publications like Harper’s Bazaar UK, Esquire, Self and Brides. {WWD}

Hearst has also undergone a round of changes in its business leadership. Former vice president and publishing director of Redbook and Seventeen Jayne Jamison has now moved over to O, The Oprah Magazine, while Cosmopolitan associate publisher Sue Katzen has taken up the reins as publisher of Redbook. And Jill Seelig, the SVP and publisher of O is now the SVP of corporate development for magazine publishing. Got all that? {Fashionista Inbox}

At the start of Paris Fashion Week, showgoers gave us a lesson on volume and exaggerated proportions. The parade of cocoon coats and full skirts didn't let up, and into the mix came leathers in vibrant colors (like cerulean and crimson), oversized knits and the occasional shot of gingham. And though stilettos were out in full force, the sneaker trend didn't end in Paris.

From that Moschino Barbie sweater to Stella McCartney bags that look like Luchador masks, click through the gallery below to see our favorite street style shots from Paris. Follow all our our Fashion Month coverage right here.

The Biggest Trends from Paris Fashion Week

The Biggest Trends from Paris Fashion Week:

It’s hard to call out individual trends from the Paris shows, mostly because they could all be rolled into one big idea: nostalgia. Designers, no matter their personal aesthetic or philosophy, seemed to be fondly looking to the past in order to move forward into the future. Unlike fall, when Nicolas Ghesquière set the fashion agenda for years to come, or last spring, when Phoebe Philo shifted the entire industry’s palette with her painterly primary-color story, Paris spring 2015 seemed to be about transforming old memories into new work. Does that mean fashion is at a standstill? Certainly not. But as we burn out on trends more and more quickly, thanks to a combination of constant visual stimulation and fast fashion, it’s nice to enjoy something familiar.

Florals for spring? How original! But truly, we haven’t seen retro daisies for a while. The vintage-wallpaper appeal of this season’s flowers were just the ugly-pretty thing the collections needed. Maison Martin Margiela’s were inspired by 1940s prints, and Saint Laurent’s offered that mod feeling Hedi Slimane is always after.

We can thank Nicolas Ghesquière for fashion's current mood. His fall 2014 Louis Vuitton show set the late sixties, early seventies mood for the spring season, where suede, autumnal colors and pointy, open-neck collars ruled.

Denim might be worn almost universally, but it’s still a utilitarian material that was co-opted by the counterculture and, eventually, the popular culture. It’s interesting to see so much of it on Paris’ runways, especially at a time when its status as the casual go-to is being questioned. (Yoga pants are the new Calvins, remember?) Maybe the Lululemon-ization of daywear is propelling denim upward, putting it on solid footing with the linens, wools and silks of the world. Both Stella McCartney and Chloe showed denim boiler suits, the ultimate working-class-meets-high-fashion statement.

Raf Simons’ dressing gowns at Dior may have been the most unexpected look of the season, and lead the campaign to bring a high neckline to the forefront. Rochas' sheer black dress and Louis Vuitton’s white lace blouse made solid cases as well.

Getting an American woman to wear a scarf — especially a thin one wrapped tightly around the neck, and only for decoration — is a near impossible feat. But in Europe, scarves are nearly as commonplace as necklaces, and chic women will certainly cotton to the sleek options offered everywhere from Paul & Joe to Saint Laurent. Very cosmopolitan.

Kiernan Shipka and the Amazing Technicolor Valentino Dress

Kiernan Shipka and the Amazing Technicolor Valentino Dress:

Seriously Kiernan, can we raid your closet? Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Seriously Kiernan, can we raid your closet? Photo: Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images
We've made no secret of our love for Kiernan Shipka, "Mad Men"'s brightest young star. She's consistently knocking it out of the park on the red carpet in a way that makes us more jealous of her closet than we should be considering she's 14 years old.

Well, she did it again on Wednesday. Shipka attended the Academy of Arts and Sciences' Hollywood Costume opening party in look 57 from the Valentino resort 2015 collection, a perfectly age-appropriate multicolored lace number. We're not totally crazy about the Rockstud pumps, if only because they feel a little, well, played out. But her bold brows -- the clear stars of the beauty look here -- are putting ours to shame, and she looks every bit the fresh-faced budding starlet she is.

Guess Discovered Its Latest Model Through Instagram

Guess Discovered Its Latest Model Through Instagram:

Discovering models on social media is officially a thing. Last month, we told you about the launch of a modeling agency division dedicated to scouting "Instagram-famous" models. Further driving this point home: Guess founder Paul Marciano recently announced via Instagram that he found a model for an upcoming campaign on the social media platform.

He wrote, "Thats SIMONE!! @moannn i was talking about that i found on Instagram from Australia! She is 21 and now moved to Cal . She will shoot for Spring Marciano or Guess!"

We're still waiting to hear back from Guess's west coast PR team with details about the shoot she's been cast for, but here's what we do know: Her name is Simone Holtznagel and she has 24,418 followers on Instagram under the handle @moannn. Of course, she wasn't exactly plucked from obscurity. She is a model -- her Instagram bio lists the various agencies she's signed with -- and she even came in third on "Australia's Next Top Model" in 2011. Her Instagram content is a mix of selfies and photos of other attractive people. And, most importantly, she's a hot blonde bombshell, which pretty much makes her the perfect Guess girl.

This isn't the first time Guess has used social media to look for models. Last year, the label held a casting call on Facebook. A winner was chosen by popular vote.

Also, current Guess model Charlotte McKinney has over 140,000 followers and has said that she considers Instagram her portfolio. It appears that follower counts are just as important as body measurements for models these days.

The Definitive Ranking of Kendall Jenner's Spring 2015 Runway Appearances

The Definitive Ranking of Kendall Jenner's Spring 2015 Runway Appearances:

Fashion Month is finally over, and we at Fashionista know what you really care about: How did Kendall Jenner do during her second runway season?

Her first season was the stuff of model legend. She landed exclusives at Marc Jacobs in New York and Giles in London, and walked in Chanel's supermarket sweep in Paris. Now that Jenner is rumored to have nabbed the greatest modeling accolade of our time -- a pair of Victoria's Secret Angel Wings, duh -- we figured we should check in and see how she fared on the runway during the spring 2015 season.

Given all the headlines, it may have seemed like Jenner was at every show this go around, but in fact she only walked 13 shows total. Below, find our evaluation of Jenner's final show count, from least to most impressive.

13. Sonia Rykiel

Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Jenner was just one of many celebrity offspring to hit the Sonia Rykiel runway, which takes away the impact of her appearance.

12. Givenchy

Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
When the designer handled your sister's wedding dress -- the same sister who is sitting front row -- it's pretty much a guarantee you'll be in the show. We don't want to use the word "nepotism," but...

11. Balmain

Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Yea, fine, we'll say nepotism. Kim Kardashian is also close with designer Olivier Rousteing, so we're not surprised to see Jenner here either.

10. Chanel

Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Jenner booked Chanel last season, and since there were 80+ looks in the show, she got a bit lost in the shuffle.

9. Marc Jacobs

Photo: Imaxtree Photo: Imaxtree
This wasn't a surprise either, considering the Marc Jacobs show is what sparked the Jenner-mania in the first place.

8. Ports 1961

Photo: Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images Photo: Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images
We didn't even remember she was here. But there's a good chance that she booked the show -- which isn't known for casting celebrity models -- on her merits as a model rather than her last name.

7. Tommy Hilfiger

Photo: Randy Brooke/Getty Images Photo: Randy Brooke/Getty Images
We weren't expecting Jenner to walk the show for a mass market designer like Hilfiger. It was a good --if gimmicky -- surprise.

6. Fendi

Photo: Tullio M. Puglia/Getty Images Photo: Tullio M. Puglia/Getty Images
Though she was already in a Karl Lagerfeld show (Chanel fall 2014), her appearance in Fendi was less expected.

5. Emilio Pucci

Photo: Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images Photo: Stefania D'Alessandro/Getty Images
Jenner walked the same runway as Naomi Campbell. That's some serious cred right there.

4. Donna Karan

Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images
Between Donna Karan's brands, we would have put our money on the cool, downtown DKNY for a Jenner appearance. Instead, she hit the runway for the more sophisticated main line. Props.

3. Bottega Veneta

Photo: Pier Marco Tacca/Getty Images Photo: Pier Marco Tacca/Getty Images
Jenner also felt like a surprise pick for a quiet, more adult brand like Bottega Veneta, where she managed to hold her own.

2. Diane von Furstenberg

Photo: Peter Michael Dills/Getty Images Photo: Peter Michael Dills/Getty Images
This was Jenner's first runway appearance of the season, and she looked every inch the powerful and sexy DVF woman.

1. Dolce & Gabbana

Photo: Imaxtree Photo: Imaxtree
Jenner was the head of the Dolce & Gabbana model pack at the finale -- a serious power move, which is why we're naming this her most impressive appearance of the season.
