This is the first time that Kate Spade, the 48-year-old co-founder and namesake of the New York fashion house, has selected celebrity to front a campaign in the brand’s 18 years, according to Women’s Wear Daily, who first cracked the scoop on Wednesday.
Deborah LLoyd, president and chief creative officer of Kate Spade, is very taken with the flame-haired starlet.
“We’ve been looking for someone to have a partnership with, as opposed to a flirtation. We loved her, and that she grew up with the brand. She’s not just a pretty face. She’s a multitalented woman, which represented the brand very well,” she explained of the decision to scoop up Bryce.
Howard, 29, will be hawking colorful boxy bags, raincoats, retro-inspired shoes, and accessories for the brand beginning this spring. The actress appears in bright and colorful ads that were shot by fashion photographer Norman Jean Roy in Brooklyn late last year.
“The Kate Spade offer came up and I kind of lost my mind,” an excited Bryce beamed in a statement announcing the deal. “There’s something about that brand that, from a young age, I really, really, really connected with. It was always the thing I wanted for Christmas…since I was 15 or 16.”

The nominees for the 2011 Razzies — honoring last year’s worst in film — are due out Jan. 24, and Christina Aguilera’s movie musical Burlesque is leading the pack of cinema stinkers with a whopping five nods on the preliminary ballot.
The drama, which is ironically up for a Best Picture Golden Globe, stars Aguilera, in her acting debut, as Allie — a small town girl who moves to Los Angeles in hopes of finding glam and glitter as the headlining act in a local burlesque bar. Oscar-winner Cher and actor Stanley Tucci co-star in the film, which earned lukewarm reviews when it opened in theaters over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Razzie bosses were particularly disinterested, voicing their displeasure with the song-and-dance show in a barrage of dishonorable mentions; including Worst Actress (Christina Aguilera), Worst Supporting Actress (Kristen Bell and Cher), Worst Supporting Actor (Cam Gigandet), Worst Screenplay, and Worst Director.
There is one saving grace – Burlesque managed to escape a Worst Picture nomination.

On Wednesday, Britain’s royal family released new details about the buzzed-about April 29 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, including the route the bride will travel.
Middleton will travel to Westminster Abbey by car through some of London’s most historic sites including The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square, before the service starts at 11 AM, according to a statement from Clarence House.
Here’s what we know so far: Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will marry the royal couple and the Bishop of London will give a public address. The Dean of Westminster will conduct the service. After tying the knot, William and Kate will make a procession by horse-drawn carriage to Buckingham Palace where Queen Elizabeth will host a private reception. Bundchen was born in the Brazilian town of Tres de Maio and grew up in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, to Vania Nonnenmacher, a bank clerk pensioner, and Valdir Bundchen, a university teacher and writer. She has five sisters - Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, Rafaela and her fraternal twin Patrícia, Gisele's junior by five minutes. Bundchen is Roman Catholic and speaks Portuguese as her native language. She also speaks Spanish and English.

Originally, Bundchen wanted to be a professional volleyball player and considered playing for the Brazilian team, Sogipa. While in school, Bundchen was so thin that her friends used to call her 'Olivia Palito' (Portuguese for Olive Oyl, Popeye's skinny girlfriend) and 'Saracura' (a type of Brazilian shorebird).
In 1993, a then-13-year-old Bundchen joined a modeling course with her sisters Patrícia and Gabriela at her mother's insistence.The following year, Bundchen went to Sao Paulo on a school excursion to give them an opportunity to walk in a big city. In a shopping mall, while eating at McDonald's with her friends, Bundchen was discovered by a modeling agency.
