A condition known as “complex migraine” has been blamed for a Los Angeles reporter’s tongue-twisiting on-air moment that went viral online earlier this week.

KCBS-TV reporter Serene Branson, who was seen garbling her words during a post-Grammys report on Sunday night, experienced a migraine and not a stroke, her physician, Dr. Neil Martin, UCLA’s Chief of Neurosurgery, tells The Los Angeles Times.

Branson was examined by paramedics after her broadcast and was sent home to recover. She later had a brain scan at UCLA-Ronald Reagan Medical Center, where the possibility of a stroke was ruled out. her temporary speech loss was due to a “complex migraine,” which can sometimes be mistaken for a stroke. Most people with migraines have little warning before any attack. Others though experience sensations before or during the pain of a migraine attack, which was what happened in Branson’s case, MDs say.

Justin told BANG Showbiz: “They may be crazy but they’re the ones that help me to be here and who put me where I am in the first place. I never worry about getting more fans as it spreads.

The former ‘Baywatch’star – who has two children, Brandon, 14, and Dylan, 13, from her marriage to rock star Tommy Lee – has battled money problems in recent years and moved into a trailer park last year while her home in Malibu, California was being renovated.

She later claimed she enjoyed the simple life it afforded her so much, she never wanted to leave.

She said: “The boys and me love the trailer park, it’s a special community, we’re happy here.

“It’s the most beautiful place, it’s where I take my motorcycle, my surf board. There are firemen with their children, surfers, all sorts. The children are so happy. I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone.”

Oksana Grigorieva may face criminal extortion charges in relation to the released recordings of ex-partner Mel Gibson.

A Los Angeles County District Attorney has been presented with evidence about the case – relating to the guarantee she would not release the tapes which see Mel threaten her as part of a child custody agreement for their two-year-old daughter Lucia – and will now decide if the Russian-born singer will face official charges.

District Attorney spokesperson Jane Robinson told E! News: “Sheriff’s officials dropped off last part of the Mel investigation today. It’s under review.”

Being questioned is whether Oksana intentionally tried to gain $15 million in hush money to prevent the recordings from going public.

Soon after signing the child custody agreement, Oksana reneged and the recordings appeared a few months later, although she has always denied her involvement.

Discussing the taped phone call – which sees the ‘Braveheart’ actor call her a “****” and a “f***ing selfish b***h” – last year, the 40-year-old star said she began recording when she was scared she would not make it “through the night”.

She said: “I started taping it around 11 o’clock because I thought I’m actually not going to live through the night. I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I’m dead that this is who did it. “

Although he has a huge personal fortune, Elton, 63, says he fears for today’s children because they live in such a materialistic world and don’t appreciate things.

He told Saga magazine: “I don’t know if kids get that sort of enjoyment out of things anymore. I don’t think you can do because your parents worked so hard when money was scarce to buy you a bicycle or your first record player.

The Disney star entered rehab voluntarily at the beginning of November 2010 after an incident in which she allegedly punched backing dancer Alex Welch.

In December, Demi settled her dispute with the dancer by giving her a sum of money in compensation.

A friend said at the time: “It’s not even close to $100,000. Way, way less than $100,000.

“Alex never expressed dissatisfaction with the settlement. I think she was just ready to just move on. She’s happy and moving past the situation and moving forward positively.”

The miniature menagerie featured a lynx, porcupine, squirrel monkey and sloth for guests to meet and was the blonde beauty’s first stop when she arrived at 11pm.

A source told E!: “Paris loved the animals and made sure that the handlers were humane before she worked with them. She asked a lot of questions about their care.”

Paris was joined for the special night by her boyfriend Cy Waits, sister Nicky and parents Rick and Kathy, and a host of other guests including Kathy Griffin.

Refreshments on hand included absinthe, champagne and cocktails, and revelers also snacked on mini-burgers, mini-grilled cheese sandwiches and other canapes.

There were also two cakes for the birthday girl. One of the baked treats was decorated with a photograph of Paris, while the other had black and red icing and was multi-tiered.

The evening was recorded for the blonde socialite’s new reality TV show ‘The World According To Paris’.

Paris is set to have a second birthday celebration at top New York restaurant Lavo tonight.

The two songs have been seeped in plagiarism allegations since “Born This Way” went viral on Friday, but during an interview with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show Monday, Gaga insisted that The Material Girl has no issue with her song – therefore, neither should anybody else.

“There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me. I am the hugest fan personally and professionally,” Gaga told Jay. “Well, the good news is that I got an email from her people and her, sending me their love and complete support on behalf of the single and if the queen says it shall be, then it shall be.”

We hear Glee’s Lea Michele is on tap to return to her Broadway roots after lobbying for an audition for the role of Fanny Brice in the upcoming Great White Way revival of the classic musical Funny Girl. Michele — who rose to fame showing off her stellar pipes in the popular theatrical production Spring Awakening — is said to be eager to follow in the footsteps of her showbiz idol Barbra Streisand, who originated the Fanny part in the 1964 original.

But while Barbra irked Gleekers when she snubbed the suggestion of guest starring on the show in a webchat with fans earlier this week, she does have praise for Lea, who plays New Directions vocalist Rachel Berry on the Emmy-winning hit.

“She’s pretty good,” Barbra said.

Outbreak at the Playboy Mansion! No….not that kind of outbreak! Police in Los Angeles are on the hunt for the 700 guests who attended a recent party at the Playboy Mansion after scores of the attendees fell ill shortly after.

The mansion is at the center of an investigation by officials at the Los Angeles County Health Department after it played host to a fundraiser as part of the Domainfest Conference earlier this month that left roughly 170 guests ill with fever, chills, and coughs. The Feb. 3 conference was attended by hundreds of Internet professionals from 30 countries. The weeklong conference was held at a hotel in Santa Monica, but nighttime events included a charity fundraiser at Hugh Hefner’s 21,987-square-foot Gothic-Tudor-style mansion in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles. Approximately 80 attendees were diagnosed with Legionellosis or Pontiac Fever – a milder strain of the pneumonia-type Legionnaires’ Disease, caused by bacteria – less than 48 hours after celebrating at the Playboy estate.

“There were events every night, and we are giving them a list of all the venues. We have no idea what this is or where it came from. The Mansion being to blame is at the moment, pure speculation,” says a Domainfest spokesperson.

A representative for publishing magnate Hefner, however, has shot down reports that a fog machine used at the party is to blame for the viral outbreak. If the mansion caused the outbreak, why aren’t more attendees present at the bash experiencing symptoms? the publicist asks

“There is no truth in the rumour that anyone caught anything at the Playboy Mansion. Nor is there any evidence. None of the Playboy staff became ill, the deejay was in the middle of the fog and she didn’t get ill. We have been contacted by the Health Department and the Playboy Mansion is cooperating fully with the investigation.”

On Friday, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health sent an e-mail to all conference attendees warning them that health officials had received a cluster of reports that people who attended the function and the conference had become ill.
