The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is asking the judge in the Mel Gibson case to turn over files as they scrutinize the credibility of Oksana Grigorieva.
The couple is at war over custody of Lucia, 1, and investigators want to know if - surprise - she's told conflicting stories about alleged domestic violence.
Lawyers for the Sheriff's Dept. want copy of the court file to evaluate the domestic violence case, but the real focus is everything Grigorieva has said.
The much-disputed events of January 6, 2010 are under heavy scrutiny as officials want to look at Oksana's declaration and deposition testimony in particular.
Based on what we've reported on this case over the past six months, at least on an anecdotal level, it's hard to imagine investigators won't see inconsistencies.
Her former bodyguard's claims alone establish that she's said a lot of things over time that don't add up, but pinpointing the truth remains extremely hard.
The request could have a bearing on whether domestic violence charges are filed against Mel and whether the D.A. will file extortion charges against Oksana.
