“California Gurl” Katy Perry is raising the stakes on her upcoming “California Dreams Tour” by ensuring that it smells good.
“It’s the first concert that’s going to smell good – it’s going to smell like you’re in cotton candy heaven,” the quirky newlywed tells Rolling Stone Magazine. “It’s a fun little nuance. I am a woman of detail, and you will be seeing that – even down to the 15 outfit changes I’m doing in concert,” she adds.
“I have this whole thing in my show that is about candy and cupcakes and meat, it’s both really sweet and shocking, but not in a sexual way.”
Though Katy finds the long rehearsals and strict diet associated with preparing for a tour tough-going, she says its all necessary to make sure her gigs are bigger and better than anything Lady Gaga, Pink, or Britney Spears can dish out. In fact, Katy’s been working with Pink’s touring director to get some top tips on how to put on a show.
“I just really want to raise the bar,” she explains. “Touring is no longer an ordinary thing where you play an instrument in jeans and a T-shirt. It has some pizzazz these days, and I’m definitely bringing the pizzazz with a lot of bells and whistles.”
Perry’s world tour kicks off next month in the UK.
