For such a little person, Justin Bieber’s sure got a big mouth. Beavis & Butt-Head are returning to MTV, and the news was broken by, of all people, Justin Bieber. The pint-sized pop sensation Tweeted the development after attending the MTV Upfronts, where the network previewed its upcoming programming.
“Solid day in NYC,” the Never Say Never star Tweeted this week. “Played hoops and just went to the MTV Upfronts… BEAVIS and BUTTHEAD are coming back!!!”
The news comes on the heels of rumors that Beavis and Butt-Head creator Mike Judge was hoping “for a full-throttle return” of the show, which ended its run in 1997. Turns out, the rumors were true. We’re not sure when new eppys will premiere, but we’re thinking slapstick fans will have a little more Beavis and Butt-Head in their lives before the end of the year.
MTV has reportedly greenlit 30 new episodes of its classic toilet bowl comedy, which quickly became one of the network’s flagship franchises after its addition to the late-night lineup in 1993.
