A number of A-list actresses are reportedly in the running to play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s new Superman movie.
Following news British actor Henry Cavill has been cast as the Man of Steel, comes word Rachel McAdams and Twilight Kristen Stewart are among the contenders to play Clark Kent’s love interest. Jessica Biel, Glee actress Dianna Agron, and Watchmen’s Malin Akerman are also being considered for the role.
Stewart — the rumored frontrunner in a proposed modern-day retelling of Snow White — reportedly has so many film offers at the moment that she miay not be able to say yes even if producers decide to cast her as the sassy reporter. Agron has reportedly read for the movie, although might be considered too young for the role, while at 32, Akerman may be seen as too old for the part now that 27-year-old Cavill has been hired.
The new Superman film will begin production in June for a Dec. 2012 release.
Who should be cast as Lois Lane? Rachel is our pick from the list of contenders. This former “Mean Girl” proved she has what it takes to play a feisty journalist with her stellar performance in Morning Glory.
