Christie Brinkley's Anti-Aging Secret: Clip-In Hair Extensions?

Christie Brinkley's Anti-Aging Secret: Clip-In Hair Extensions?: Christie Brinkley, widely known for making guys salivate with her iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers, has maintained a successful career for over 40 years. The 59-year-old supermodel's voluminous hair has also made her an an icon... and it also hides one of her best kept secrets.

At a recent launch for her new Hair2Wear collection in New York City, the blonde bombshell revealed that she wears 16-inch clip-in hair extensions almost every day. Brinkley uses the hair pieces to add body and highlights to her thinning locks, which instantly reverses the signs of aging hair.

"I think of it as a choice. Do I want to put in the time or do I just want to put in the hair? Literally, it's just click, click, click," she told HuffPost Style.

Now Brinkley is making it possible for every woman to achieve supermodel hair with a line that includes 10 wigs and nine hairpieces.

"Back in the day, there used to be the association, 'Oh, it's fake! Oh, I would never wear add fake hair to my head.' But over the years, that has changed a lot with people just being aware of what goes on behind the scenes on a fashion shoot to performers today changing their hairstyle the same time they change their outfit," she said. "I think people are much more into the idea of having fun with their hair… but it has to be easy."

Christie Brinkley's Anti-Aging Secret: Clip-In Hair Extensions?

After spending the day with the Michigan-born beauty, we were shocked by the quality of her synthetic extensions. They aren't flimsy or super shiny, and they blend in seamlessly with your natural hair.

The brand's president, Michael Napolitano, also made sure the packaging features a window so that you can actually feel the texture and see the color tonality. No more buying extensions from the beauty supply store only to go home and realize it's a bad match. We're sold!

Here are Brinkley's at-home styling tips for clip-in hair extensions:

First, blow-dry hair upside down, then sit straight up and smooth the edges of your hair with a round perforated brush. (A boar bristle brush will help to add bend or a slight curl.)

Next, lift up the section of hair where you'd like to place the clip-in extensions underneath. To provide grip for the clip, backcomb with a small brush and spritz the section with a medium hold hairspray.

Starting from the middle section of the hair extension, clip it onto your hair and then work your way around. If you have fine or thin hair, Brinkley recommends placing the extension behind your ears to eliminate bulk.

Gently finger-comb the hair extensions to blend them in, and use a curling iron on a few pieces of your natural hair to recreate that loose, tousled look.
