Kendall Jenner's modeling career trajectory is far from the norm. Her first season doing the shows (back in February during Fall 2014 Fashion Month) she scored blue chip gigs — slots on the Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Chanel runways — that most models have to pay their dues for years before landing. In addition, she won the approval of industry heavy-hitters early on, specifically Love EIC Katie Grand and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy, who cast her in the label's fall ad campaign.

Her hot streak has continued this season, and so far Jenner has walked for Diane von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger and Fendi to name just a few. Plenty of this can be chalked up to nepotism (Tisci is best friends with Jenner's brother-in-law, Kanye West), and apparently fellow models are none too pleased about the favoritism the Kardashian sibling has received during her short time on the scene.

In this week's issue, In Touch reports that Jenner has faced bullying from other models this season, due to the fact that she's unfairly "stealing" their spots on the runway. Instead of warmly welcoming the new girl on the scene, they apparently resorted to playing cruel practical jokes on her. “[The models] started acting so bitchy — some even put out their cigarettes in Kendall’s drink,” a source revealed to the magazine. “Models can be cruel, especially with someone new and entitled.”

Despite the dubious source, we're inclined to believe this: Whenever we ran into Jenner at an event during New York Fashion Week or backstage at a show, she was receiving special treatment, with handlers to ice out the fashion press or a separate call time so she wasn't made to get ready with the other girls. She also only hangs around with fellow celebrity offspring — Hailey Baldwin and Bella Hadid, specifically — which doesn't do much to disprove her labeling as a "celebrity model." Finally, before Fashion Week began, several industry insiders spoke on the record about Jenner taking work from non-celebrity models due mostly to her familial connections.

Jenner is a natural modeling talent, and while we don't doubt that she would have had a swift ascent in the fashion industry without her last name, she likely would have had to pound the pavement and start small like most models do. While the 18-year-old probably has a long, lucrative career ahead of her, it looks like it could be pretty lonely for her at the top.
