An Angel is losing their wings. The model is leaving Victoria’s Secret after just two years under contract with the brand to free up her time for upcoming projects — including college!

Karlie Kloss has been a staple on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway since her 2011 debut in thee annual show and officially became an Angel in 2013 — but after two years with the brand the model has decided to focus on other commitments.

“Karlie and I met several months ago to discuss the many things she hoped to do in her life and career. As we talked, it became clear she would not have the time to fulfill her myriad commitments. Reluctantly, we agreed she would leave the brand at the end of her contract. Karlie is one of a kind, a very close friend, someone I truly admire and love. She is, without question, one of the best models ever. But she is an even better person. Her future is unlimited, and I am excited to see all the good she will do. Karlie Kloss will always be an Angel to me.” Ed Razek, senior creative for Victoria’s Secret, said in a statement.

Although we’re sad to see Karlie hang up her wings, we weren’t surprised by the announcement — especially because Karlie is everywhere these days. “Karlie has so much going on. On top of all of her modeling jobs, she’s also going to school now,” a source close to the model told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “With her schooling the obligations just wouldn’t fit in her schedule. Contractually, it just didn’t work.”

While Karlie may be focusing on other endeavors and walking away from her Angel contract, that doesn’t mean she couldn’t return to walk in the sexy lingerie show! “It is definitely still a possibility,” the source added.
