This Friday, thousands 0f music-loving folks from all over the world will descend into the Indio, California desert for Coachella: three days of concerts, parties and hobnobbing with celebrities. Thanks to the "see and be seen" nature of the event, festival street style is now covered extensively, and attendees tend to go all-out when it comes to selecting their outfits. The role fashion plays in the event has grown significantly over the years: Coachella's popularity has led retailers to create collections specifically geared towards the festival, and the weekend's schedule is packed with enough brand-sponsored parties to rival Fashion Week.

However, part of the event's charm is that it's smack in the middle of the mountainous desert — meaning that dust storms and otherwise dirty conditions are common, even for those sequestered to the VIP areas — so it's surprising how many showgoers are decked out in high-end fashion. (The amount of ChloĆ© and Isabel Marant ankle booties I've seen at the festival is pretty shocking.)

I can't imagine Coachella's much fun if you avoid the muddy main stage crowds and dance tents because you're worried about keeping your designer goods clean. But if you're more focused on lounging by the pool with the likes of Alexa Chung or Diane Kruger at one of the many Palm Springs parties, we have plenty of spring 2015 inspiration to get you set for your trip. Read on for 20 off-the-runway looks that are bound to be spotted (and street style-photographed) at the festival.
