When I interviewed Lily James's stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray in March about dressing James for the "Cinderella" promo-tour, she told me that the Tokyo premiere would be the last major appearance for the British actress, who has been traveling the world promoting the live-action Disney film for months. Clearly, she and James decided to go for a major princess moment on the red carpet to close out the junket.

On Wednesday, James celebrated the Japanese premiere of the film in a blush Elie Saab Couture gown. It may not be Cinderella's signature pale blue color, but it's still the kind of dress a Disney princess would dream about wearing. It's covered in shimmery ruffles and sits off the shoulder, and James looks glamorous and confident. Also, has her hair ever been this shiny?

Corbin-Murray said that while James's style is naturally a bit more tomboyish, she has fully embraced the glamour of being Cinderella on the red carpet in order to honor the film, though they deviated from that plan at the London premiere, where she wore a stunning column dress from Balenciaga. However, James brought the tour full circle in Tokyo with this elaborate and traditionally feminine Elie Saab, who she also wore to the L.A. premiere of the film (see below).

James may have started this tour as a relative unknown, but she has emerged as a bonafide star. I've said it once and I'll say it again: can we get a "Cinderella" sequel?
