Liu Wen, Arizona Muse and More Step Out to Celebrate New Yorkers for Children’s Spring Gala:





Last night, the Mandarin Oriental played host to a dazzling crowd of philanthropic New Yorkers, all of whom gathered for a night of recognition and celebration held in honor of the New Yorkers for Children Spring Gala. In addition to celebrating the eleventh year of its annual ‘A Fool’s Fete’ spring dinner dance benefiting youth in foster care, the organization also had the honor of working with Oscar de la Renta, who served as the evening’s presenting sponsor and honorary stylist to the stars.

Top models Arizona Muse, Julie Henderson, Hailey Clauson, Aline Baikova were all dressed to the nines in their ODLR finest, lighting up the red carpet with a mix of colors and silhouettes. Leading the color front was Alina Baikova, the face of Oscar de la Renta’s new fragrance Oscar Flor, who was spring personified in one of the house’s green floor-length numbers.  ”I’m very excited to be here tonight,” said Alina.  ”This is my first time attending New Yorkers for Children, but I’m hoping to learn a little something that I can bring to my charity back home in Ukraine.”





Once inside, the fashion house’s creative director, Peter Copping, was joined for dinner by Liu Wen, in a smoldering pajama suit by La Perla; Arizona, who impressed in a voluminous scarlet gown; and Valentina Zalyaeva, who cut a svelte figure in a white floor-length dress featuring a bejeweled belt.

After a video tribute in which event chair Alina Cho interviewed the nonprofit’s founder, Nicholas Scoppetta, and current vice president of the board, Susan Burden, youth speaker Shavonn Wheeler took to the podium to share her heart-wrenching tale of overcoming tremendous adversity to attend John Jay College. With nary a dry eye in the house it didn’t take long before the crowd was donating in droves, helping to raise a total of $750,000 for the charity.
