The Victoria's Secret Angels Have Taken Over Juicy Couture's Ad Campaigns:

On Thursday, Juicy Couture sent out a press blast announcing that Candice Swanepoel has signed on as the new face of its fragrance "Viva La Juicy." Swanepoel could sell us adult diapers if she felt like it, so the fact that yet another brand has contracted her to hawk its goods isn't at all surprising. In fact, Juicy has done so before, for spring 2013.

What is surprising — or just plain intriguing — is the fact that Swanepoel is the latest in a long line of Victoria's Secret angels to do a campaign for Juicy. In June, longtime VS model Behati Prinsloo appeared in the ads for "I Am Juicy," another perfume, while newbie angels Taylor Hill and Romee Strijd shot the clothing line's fall ads. That's a lot of Angels in not very much time. Martha Hunt wasn't yet a Victoria's Secret Angel when she shot for Juicy's fall 2014 campaign, but she had been shooting for the lingerie brand and walking its annual runway shows for a while at that point.

Coincidence??

Probably not, but also a little. There's definitely overlap between the Victoria's Secret and Juicy Couture customer bases, and though they're owned by different parent companies (L Brands and Authentic Brands Group, respectively), the labels embody similarly colorful, feminine and playful aesthetics, so it makes sense that they'd share models. It's hard to say whether Juicy is booking these women because they're Victoria's Secret favorites, since they're all high profile models with active careers outside of VS... but a little voice in our gut says their Angel-hood is not an unrelated factor.
