Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele likes to travel, evidenced by both his collections — his spring 2016 show was peppered with vintage map prints — and his chosen destinations for the label's off-season shows. For resort 2016 last June, he brought his buzzy, eccentric wares to New York City, where he shut down a street block in Chelsea and carpeted an industrial warehouse space to serve as the runway and venue. This time around, he's chosen another fashion capital to host the show, and will present Gucci's resort 2017 collection in London next year.

The announcement that Michele is bringing his show on the road once again doesn't come as much of a surprise: Recently, Chanel announced that Karl Lagerfeld has chosen to stage Chanel's resort 2017 collection in Havana, Cuba — one of the few locations on the map that the industry hasn't fully descended upon yet. This year alone, Louis Vuitton brought its resort collection to Palm Springs, Dior took over Pierre Cardin's Bubble House in Cannes and Lagerfeld opted to present a K-Pop-inspired range in Seoul. Brands stateside are beginning to get in on the action, too: Public School, in conjunction with Cadillac, flew international editors to Dubai, where Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne held a runway show for pre-fall 2016.

Details on the event, including the venue and date, are still scarce, but we will update as we learn more.
