According to reports Walt Disney Pictures has decided to push back the release date of the upcoming animated “Monsters, Inc” prequel movie titled “Monsters University.” The movie was originally set to hit theaters on November 2, 2011, however it will now arrive on June 21, 2013.
We wonder why we have to wait so much longer for “Monsters University” to arrive in theaters? We’ll keep you posted!

Disney has announced that a new short titled “The Ballad Of Nessie” will run in theaters before the upcoming animated movie “Winnie The Pooh” when it arrives in theaters in the US on July 15, 2011. The short is set in Scotland and is the tale of the friendly Loch Ness monster, named Nessie, and how she and her best friend MacQuack the rubber duck came to live in the moor they call home. During the short a greedy land developer named MacFroogle decides to build a mini-golf course on top of Nessie’s home – oh no!
The short is directed by Stevie Wermers-Skelton and Kevin Deters (“Prep & Landing” and the Goffy short “How to Hook Up Your Home Theater”). The short was written by Stevie Wermers-Skelton, Kevin Deters and Regina Conroy and produced by Dorothy McKim and Tamara Boutcher with a score by Michael Giacchino (“Ratatouille” and “Up”). Animation for the short was supervised by Andreas Deja, Mark Henn, Randy Haycock, Dale Baer and Ruben A. Aquino while the short is narrated by Billy Connolly.
We can’t wait to see this new Disney short!

While Disney has been promoting the upcoming animated “Winnie The Pooh” movie as a full-length movie, it turns out that it is actually under one hour long! The movie technically runs for 69 minutes, however that includes 10 minutes of credits.
Just before the movie begins there is also a 6 minute short called “The Ballad of Nessie.”
Are you happy or upset that this movie will only run for about an hour in theaters, yet you will be paying the same price to see it as any regular film?
“Winnie The Pooh” will arrive in theaters in the US on July 15, 2011.

We love that almost 30 years after the original “TRON” movie was released Disney decided to create a sequel, “TRON: Legacy.” It is even more exciting that the original star of “TRON,” Jeff Bridges, agreed to be in the sequel and reprise his character.
“TRON: Legacy” is a fantastic film to view in 3D as the visuals in the movie are definitely the best part of the film. They make you feel as if you are a part of the movie, and with the 3D version you feel far more engulfed than you do when watching the 2D version. However, the graphics in the 2D version are still more visually appealing than most movies that have hit theaters recently and we highly recommend “TRON: Legacy” for any avid film buff who enjoys being delighted visually.
The actors in the movie are fun and easy to relate to. You can tell immediately which characters are good and evil and you can read their intentions with no problem at all, which makes this a great movie for kids and parents alike. The plot is easy to follow and far from complex, again, making it a wonderful family film.
Some of the main actors in “TRON: Legacy” include:
- Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn - Garrett Hedlund as Sam Flynn - Olivia Wilde as Quorra - Michael Sheen as Alan Bradley
“TRON: Legacy” was directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Steven Lisberger and Sean Gailey. The script for the movie was written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (who both were co-executive producers of ABC’s “LOST“!).
We highly recommend picking up “TRON: Legacy” on any of the formats mentioned above. However, we have to admit that it was fun to compare “TRON: Legacy” to “TRON: The Original Classic” in the 5-Disc Combo Packs. We got to see not only the evolution of the technology in the movie, but also of the visual effects and the main star of the film, Jeff Bridges.
“TRON: Legacy” will not disappoint you and is sure to keep you intrigued and on the edge of your seat the entire time you watch.

Sucker Punch Directed by Zack Snyder Starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Scott Glenn Warner Brothers Rated PG-13 Release date: March 25, 2011 Sucker Punch is the newest film from Zack Snyder, director of 300 and Watchmen, and it continues his string of visually arresting films. Snyder does not only direct adaptations of comic books (see Legend of the Guardians and Dawn of the Dead as the exceptions), but he is widely known for them, particularly with his involvement in the next Superman film. Sucker Punch is his first original screenplay though, so many were wondering what he would come up with himself. What he presents with Sucker Punch is a mix of unique genres that continues Snyder’s line of visually unique films, but has very little going on to make the viewer care about what's happening. Sucker Punch revolves around a young girl given the nickname of Baby Doll (Emily Browning). She is sent to an insane asylum by her stepfather in a plan to steal an inheritance that is rightfully hers. The stepfather plans to have Baby Doll lobotomized (by Jon Hamm who is becoming a master of big-screen cameos), but she plans to escape, with the help of some of the other inmates. Somehow, the plan involves the inmates taking a few necessary items, distracting the guards with some kind of dance that becomes a series of fantasy action sequences. And then Scott Glenn shows up as a wise old man relaying pointless platitudes. Trust me, explaining the plot makes my head hurt and exposes many of the movie's flaws [...]
