A far cry from her “High School Musical” role! Vanessa Hudgens is in negotiations to star in a new movie called “Gimmie Shelter” in which she would play a pregnant, homeless teenager who flees from her abusive mother and is on a journey to find her biological father, played by Brendan Fraser.

The script for “Gimmie Shelter” was developed by Ron Krauss who is also lined up to direct and produce alongside Jeff Rice and Dama Claire. The movie will begin filming late this month in Connecticut, so we’ll know pretty soon if Vanessa has gotten the role!
