8 Unique Model Baby Names to Inspire William and Kate

8 Unique Model Baby Names to Inspire William and Kate:

It won’t be long now until The Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to royal baby number two, and as excitement builds once again at the Lindo Wing (yep, fans are already gathering outside), there’s seems to be only one question on everyone’s minds: What will Kate and Will name their little prince or princess? While many are betting on names like Alice, Elizabeth and Charlotte if it’s a girl, and Arthur, James or Philip if it’s a boy, we’ve found ourselves in the tiny pool of people still keeping their fingers crossed that it’s something slightly more unique.  In a last ditch effort to better our odds in the baby name pool, we rounded up eight of our favorite one-of-a-kind model baby names and their meanings (with the help of Google, of course) in hopes of inspiring Kate before she gives birth.  After all, if they’re good enough for fashion royalty, they must be good enough for British royalty too, no?

Modelinia AM Reads: Six-Degrees of Cara Delevingne

Modelinia AM Reads: Six-Degrees of Cara Delevingne:

Here’s another reason to love Chrissy Teigen.  The model appeared on the Meredith Vieira show this week to explain what drove her to post the now viral image of her stretch marks. ”I was actually just taking a picture of the bruises [I got] and then I saw the stretch marks in there,” she told Vieira. “I have those apps, the Facetune and Photoshopping ones, and I just didn’t feel like doing it anymore—and I’m never doing it again, because I think we forget what normal people look like now.” Preach. ~ Page Six

Not in love with the Apple Watch wrist bands? A host of third-party brands have popped up to offer customers something a little more individualized than Apple’s own bands. Some companies, like Casetify, will even let you print your own images from Instagram, Facebook or your photo collection directly onto the strap for a cool $50. ~ Fashionista

The New York Times‘ Vanessa Friedman interviewed a panel of the power players who help fuel the red carpet industry at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s annual SCADstyle presentation series this week. What they had to divulge was a candid, eye-opening look into just how much money and power gets passed around in the few paces it takes a celeb to walk from their car to the entrance. ~ Refinery29

Leading up to the May opening of “China: Through the Looking Glass” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Vogue has a first look at the dresses that will be on display, including breathtaking styles from Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen among others. ~ Vogue

Alexa Chung has had a lot of jobs in recent years — model, TV host, author, designer — and now thanks to Paper magazine, she add photographer to the list.  In her first published feature behind the camera, she captures intimate images of her famous friends from around the world.  Among our favorites is a close-up shot of Cara Delevingne sporting what else, a goofy face. ~ Paper magazine

These days, Cara Delevingne seems to be friends with just about everyone and their mothers, a phenomenon that we can only assume will continue to flourish as she dives deeper and deeper into the Hollywood acting scene. To demonstrate just how deep her popularity runs, we decided to bust out one of our favorite parlor games— “Six Degrees of Separation” — and attempted to connect Cara with four of the most random celebrities we could find.  Check out our examples here and feel free to come up with your own and share them with us onFacebook and Twitter. ~ Modelinia

Gigi Hadid is Having the BEST Birthday

Gigi Hadid is Having the BEST Birthday:

If this week’s highlights are anything to go by, then it looks like 20 is going to be a good year for Gigi Hadid.  The model, who kicked off her birthday celebrations last weekend with a private dinner at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood, finally said goodbye to her teen years on Thursday with the help of a few special loved ones.  Though she was technically on-duty all day, shooting a new swim campaign for Seafolly in Miami, the model-of-the-moment was hardly alone as she was greeted with a number of surprise gifts.  Her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, who was unable to be there due to his ongoing tour, out did men everywhere by sending his lady love a massive bouquet of roses to her hotel room. Well played Mr. Simpson, well played.

“Happy 20th birthday to my best mate @gigihadid,” tweeted the Aussie musician.  ”You are a WOMAN of soul and substance… I love you!”

Meanwhile, Gigi also got some supportive B-day shout-outs from her famous family and friends. “Happy birthday to my angel of a sister,” her younger sister Bella Hadid wrote. “You’re my best friend and I wouldn’t know what to do in my life without you…you are a true one of a kind gem.”

Karlie Kloss shared her sentiments with an Instagram post honoring the birthday girl. “Happy, happy, happy 20th birthday to my wonderful friend @gigihadid! You are such a ray of sunshine and I am so grateful to have you in my life. I can’t wait to celebrate with you soon.”

Needless to say, Gigi was feeling the love. “Feeling so loved and blessed today…I’m so lucky to have people in my life that make me feel at home even in a hotel! Thank you all, I love you!”

Cheers to being 20!

Kendall Jenner Celebrates Her #MyCalvins Denim Campaign With Cara Delevingne, Hailey Baldwin and More

Kendall Jenner Celebrates Her #MyCalvins Denim Campaign With Cara Delevingne, Hailey Baldwin and More:

Kendall Jenner  celebrated her new job as the face of Calvin Klein Jeans last night at the #mycalvins denim series launch party held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.

Dressed in a beige, mod Calvin Klein miniskirt and turtleneck, Kendall led the pack, followed by several of her famous supporters including the entire Kardashian clan (sans Kim) and fellow celeb-models Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin.  Arriving late to the event was Cara Delevingne, who, after having put in an appearance at CinemaCon where she picked up the Rise Star Award alongside her Paper Towns co-star Nat Wolff, posed for photos with her BFF.

Earlier this week, Kendall snapped a huge Calvin Klein billboard towering over New York and shared it on Instagram, captioning the photo “Soho.” “I haven’t actually seen it in person!” Kendall told Vogue, when asked about the vast SoHo billboard of her #mycalvins campaign that she recently posted on Instagram. “A few of my friends sent it to me.”

The global image campaign, photographed by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Melanie Ward in New York City, sees the supermodel-in-training — who’s been in ads for Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Estée Lauder, and who is now a regular in the pages of Vogue — wearing throwback denim styles including overalls, athletic sweatshorts and cropped sweatshirts, all emblazoned with the brand’s logo.

“Honestly, it has been my dream to be able to do something like this.” Kendall told WWD at the time of the campaign’s release. “Being a Calvin Klein model is something that I’ve always dreamed of and it’s incredible to follow such major models like Kate MossChristy Turlington and Lara Stone. It’s just an awesome brand to be a part of and I’m super excited.”

Look of the Week: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Elevates the Little White Dress

Look of the Week: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Elevates the Little White Dress:

We should really just start calling this “Rosie’s Look of the Week.” After having impressed last Friday in a multi-colored, floral-print look from Burberry’s fall’s collection, the British model is back again today, this time with an elevated take on the little white dress.

Spotted out with Jason Statham at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica on Saturday night, Rosie, brightened up for spring in a louche, richly textured crinkled voile dress from Zimmermann’s Resort 2015 collection. Having been cinched at the waist with a tan leather belt, the dress made for the modern woman, combining a feminine silhouette with bohemian sensibilities.  Meanwhile, she had some fun when it came to her accessories, adding a touch of metallic via her fold-over clutch and rose-gold Anita Ko jewelry, while her beige Stuart Weitzman Nudiest sandals only served to enhance the model’s sun-kissed glow.  Factor in her textured bob and red statement lip, and the model’s high-glam take on beach beauty could inspire even the fairest amongst us to instill a new pre-party ritual: a quick application of self-tanner and a blast of salt spray.

What Lindsay Ellingson, Rachel Roy and 16 More Fashion People Wore to Prom

What Lindsay Ellingson, Rachel Roy and 16 More Fashion People Wore to Prom:

Young women tend to take prom dress shopping seriously — and the results are often memorable, in life and on TV. Remember Marissa Cooper's floaty Chanel frock on "The O.C," Serena van der Woodsen's $20,000 Christian Dior number on "Gossip Girl" and Andie Walsh's DIY look from "Pretty in Pink"? While the aforementioned style moments have been immortalized on Netflix (and in our fondest of childhood memories), most of us have our prom pictures stashed away in a drawer somewhere, to be revisited only when we feel like embarrassing ourselves.

In homage to prom season, we asked various members of the fashion industry — i.e. today's tastemakers — to show us what they wore to the big dance back in the day, shoulder poufs, glorious perms and all.

"I had such a great time at my prom! I wasn't a girl that boys crushed on, so no one asked me to the prom. [Editor's note: you foolish, foolish high school boys.] Instead, I went with one of my closest guy friends and we had a blast! I loved my dress, which my mom bought at JCPenney. A shimmering blue strapless... I look at the picture now and can't stop from chuckling at those Medusa-esque curls, which at my high school was considered very cutting edge 'formal' hair. My date, though, was so handsome and we spent a lot of time on the dance floor especially to Missy Elliott... so seeing her perform at the Super Bowl Half-time Show took me back to really happy place!"

"The year was 1976 and I was so excited to go to the prom with my high school sweetheart and future husband Dan DeVos, who had borrowed his father’s Rolls-Royce for the night. I think the dress was by Albert Nipon as I used to wear a lot of his designs and I remember having very little time to get ready as I was rushing home from work. Some things never change!"

"I went to a small school with the same people from 1st through 12th grade — dances were never too focused on getting a date, but more on dressing up and going as a group. I think this was our freshmen year, so we were all super excited for our first high school dance."

"Always the girls' girl, I was much more excited to pose with my best friend than with my date. I had my dress made by a seamstress, specifically inspired from Julia Roberts' red dress in 'Pretty Woman.' As you can see I was always into shades of the same tone, red dress red stockings, red shoes."

“I went to the prom in Rio de Janeiro at a night club with filet mignon, champagne, dance cards and lots of samba. My jacket came off pretty quickly because I danced until I was drenched.”

"I remember prom like it was yesterday. Eran and I have always been very fashion forward and thought it would be fun to push boundaries with our outfit choices. We had a great time that night!" says Elisa Dahan. (Fun fact: the two went to prom together, but are now platonic business partners.)

"My date and I were not part of the popular clique, so a group of us decided to go as a group — there were eight of us. We had an awful expensive dinner beforehand and then made our way to prom. I remember it all being very uneventful. My date wore a baby blue silk taffeta dress with matching ballerinas and her wrist corsage was made of violets. My tux was, needless to say, rented. In the end, all the boys turned out to be gay."

"I am not a fan of suits, but it was prom so I had to figure something out! I searched Beachwood Mall in Ohio and [altered] every seam to make it much more fitted. I didn't want a baggy suit, not my style!"

"I am a native New Yorker, and grew up in Midtown! In high school I thought I was very cool because my boyfriend was from Brooklyn. Anyhow, my high school prom was at the Water Club on the East River. Prom was more about friends hanging out than 'dates.' So even though I had my über-cool BK boyfriend, he was not friends with my high school pals, so I brought a female friend to prom who was buddies with my high school crew. We got each other matching corsages, wore vintage dresses and fancied ourselves to be very alternative. She's still one of my best friends to this day. Moral of the story: boyfriends come and go but your best girlfriends are for life."

"The dress was Vera Wang. I bought it for almost nothing on Bluefly two sizes too big and had to majorly alter it."

"Junior prom is such a fun and funny memory for me. I was crowned prom queen — I know, I know, save your eye roll — and I wore a tuxedo dress. At the time, it seemed pretty daring, and I thought it looked chic but, in retrospect… not so much. My mom is super into fashion and convinced me to go with something original and buck the trend of frilly, jewel-toned dresses that were so popular in 1995. It only took 10-15 years for this look to come back in fashion again and in a way, way better iteration — see: Alexa Chung, Angelina Jolie, every Kardashian ever, etc."

"Here it is, in all its glory. The year is 2000. I had a beautiful beaded one-shoulder gown from BCBG all ready to go (I had purchased it months in advance) and at the last minute saw this postage stamp of a mini dress (back scarf included!) at Loehmann's and had to have it. Please also note the regrettable highlights and weird blingy clips in the back of my hair. I promptly got a fever that night and went home early."

Cheryl Wischhover, Beauty Editor-at-Large, Fashionista

"If I had to sum up this photo in two words, those words would be 'shiny' and 'hair spray.' Okay, fine, that's three words. The angle is such here that you can't appreciate the full magnitude of my bangs, which is probably a good thing. I think I tamed the rest of my gigantic perm by pulling it back in a banana clip. Also not evident in this photo: the matching blue eye shadow. I can't remember where my dress came from, but it's most definitely mall fodder. Did we all go to the same satin pointy-toe shoe store? And why the garters? I have so many questions for my 17-year-old self."

"I wore a short dress to junior and senior prom — I was never into the idea of a princess gown. The black dress was a special buy from the Saks an hour and a half away. And yes, it was really, um, booby. Oops."

Alyssa Vingan, Senior Editor, Fashionista

"I will admit, I actually loved my prom dress — so much so that I wore it to a wedding in New York City right after I graduated from college. While the aqua color is a little too loud for me now (I grew up in Virginia Beach, so this was theme-appropriate) the dress fit so well and I remember being comfortable in it the entire night. I also remember prom being very anti-climactic — and that there was a lot of drama about who was hanging out with whom — but I spent the night sneaking booze and dancing with my best friend and our dates, which is really what prom's all about anyway, right?"

Eliza Brooke, Associate Editor, Fashionista

"My high school didn't do prom; we had a 'formal' that all four grades got invited to, which meant that nobody got excessively dressed up for the occasion. I got this dress from Anthropologie my senior year. It was way too short when I raised my arms, but fit like a silky, oversized t-shirt, which I thought made me look unbelievably unconventional and chic. That bag I probably should have gone without. I've never been a handbag person, so I probably just tossed it on as an afterthought since I needed something to carry my crap in."

Chantal Fernandez, Assistant Editor, Fashionista

"BCBG for the win! Here I am with my date Leon at my senior prom. I actually ended up wearing the exact same dress to the dance as my best friend. We never thought to talk about it beforehand because she was on the softball team and I was in the school play and springtime was crazy busy. The theme of the dance was jungle or something. My dress is kind of like camo, right?"

Fawnia Soo Hoo, Contributing Editor, Fashionista

"So I grew up in the Michigan 'burbs and the shopping options were fairly limited. I thought I was being strategic by buying my junior prom dress at the closest thing to a boutique in the local mall — although that doesn't give an excuse for my regrettably too-monochromatic look, which matched down to the scrunchie and shoulder poufs. So I get to prom and my friend is wearing the same thing! Keep in mind, this was the pre-Facebook era, so there were no community pages to call dibs on dresses or anything. We've since reconnected on Facebook, and she has zero memory of our prom twinning, possibly because the dress did not age well, but our traumatic 'Bitch Stole My Look' moment will be forever seared in my consciousness."

Jumpsuits Were Really Big on the Red Carpet This Week

Jumpsuits Were Really Big on the Red Carpet This Week:

Between the Tribeca Film Festival, Cinemacon and a press tours for "The Age of Adaline" and "The Avengers," this was a big week for Hollywood stars making red carpet appearances. For these particular events, the dress code was a little more casual than, say, an awards show or Cannes, and while plenty of actresses opted for the standard cocktail dress, more than usual took the opportunity to break out a chic jumpsuit.

What we learned is that there's a jumpsuit out there for every #aesthetic. Feeling minimalist? Go with Lake Bell's Lanvin. Bold? Elizabeth Banks's printed, solar plexus-reavling Kaelen is a cool choice. Want to be comfortable? Try perennial jumpsuit fan Maggie Gyllenhaal's looser-fit style. Tend to look good in whatever you put on? Rose Byrne's polka dot, wide-legged Zimmermann number is perfect. Jumpsuits may have been big last year, but if the red carpet has any influence on retail, their popularity shows no signs of slowing down for 2015. (Blake Lively has a floral one for sale on Preserve if you're into that.)

For all of the week's most successful jumpsuit and pants looks (we see you, Claire Danes, Emma Watson and Lindsey Wixson) check out the gallery below.

Elizabeth Olsen Covers 'The Edit,' While Mary-Kate and Ashley Consider 'Full House' Spinoff

Elizabeth Olsen Covers 'The Edit,' While Mary-Kate and Ashley Consider 'Full House' Spinoff:

Leading up to the May opening of "China: Through the Looking Glass" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Vogue has a first look at the dresses that will be on display, including breathtaking styles from Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen among others. {Vogue}

Elizabeth Olsen looks like a bohemian goddess on the cover of this week's issue of Net-a-Porter's online magazine The Edit. Modeling looks from Valentino, Etro and Emilio Pucci, the indie-actress-turned-blockbuster-starlet opens up about idolizing her older sisters, how she made the careful decisions that shaped her career and her passion for ballet. {The Edit}

In other Olsen news, Michelle Tanner's presence on the anticipated Netflix "Full House" spinoff series, which John Stamos confirmed Tuesday, is up in the air. The actresses come designers who played Michelle -- Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen -- say they had no idea it was happening, and will be consulting with TV dad Bob Saget before making a final decision about participating. {WWD}

Celebrity Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic uploaded a digitized photo of himself Wednesday, announcing his character's addition to the Kim Kardashian Hollywood game. Coming soon to a Kardashian app near you, Dedivanovic will provide players with a fresh face and styling tips as they work their way to A-List status. {Instagram via @makeupbymario}

Jeremy Langmead, former editor in chief of Mr. Porter, will return to the e-commerce site in June after serving as chief content officer at Christie's London for the past year. In his new role as Brand and Content Director, Langmead will be responsible for monitoring the brand's vision and leading its content and marketing teams globally. {WWD}

Rose Byrne Demonstrates How to Wear a Wide-Leg Jumpsuit

Rose Byrne Demonstrates How to Wear a Wide-Leg Jumpsuit:

Jumpsuits are In right now, but many of them are hard to pull off — they either feel too sexy (tight, strapless) or too frumpy (baggy, shapeless).

Well, leave it to style darling Rose Byrne to get the look just right. Her navy blue Zimmermann jumpsuit features white polka dots, which make it feel sweet, while the keyhole neckline gives it a slightly sexy edge. The fitted top and wide-leg bottom also provide a nice balance.

Jumpsuits work best when they look easy, so Byrne smartly kept things low-key above the neck with loose curls and a natural makeup look. Her dainty jewelry doesn't compete with the busy pattern, and the black pointy wedges by Nicholas Kirkwood anchor the outfit perfectly.

Elsewhere at Condé Nast, Teen Vogue is making history by putting out the publishing house's first explicitly advertiser-sponsored cover with Tresemmé. The false cover, which appears on the magazine's May issue (otherwise covered by Kylie Jenner), comes hand in hand with sponsored posts on Teen Vogue's website and video tutorials. {Adweek}

Colette, the upscale Parisian boutique, is debuting a collab with... McDonald's. The line, hopefully not to be confused with Jeremy Scott's debut collection for Moschino, features shirts, phone cases and totes with names like "Big Mac Sac." It will be available in limited run starting May 4. {Fashionista inbox}

Two U.S. senators introduced legislation that would require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate at least five ingredients used in cosmetics and personal care products each year. The 10 Best Wedding Looks for Spring 2016

The 10 Best Wedding Looks for Spring 2016:

There were many beautiful looks on show during Bridal Fashion Week, which wrapped up on Tuesday. Narrowing the list down to the 10 best was pretty much akin to picking the cutest Jolie-Pitt kid. Impossible. But it had to be done, so Fashionista joined forces with the authority on all things bridal, Brides, and its Executive Editor Lauren Iannotti to confront the challenge.

Scroll down for our selections.

In his first bridal collection as creative director of the eternally coveted brand, Peter Copping really shook things up. Um, actually just a little, and totally within the Oscar de la Renta paradigm. (Not throwing shade! We totally love the Oscar paradigm.) In my favorite from the show, he piled his trademark lace into a lean, Spanish-ish strapless masterpiece. — Lauren Iannotti

I love the ease and fun and All-Americanness in this Hayley Paige gown. I want to go to this wedding because the bride is going to dance with me but not look weird and constricted, and have a hard time even just doing that "Uptown Funk" dance. — Lauren Iannotti

Haven't heard of Mira Zwillinger? You will. She's coming up in the best way, surprising with each show but always sticking to her schtick: dreamy, romantic gowns with an edge. Case in point: The etching designs on the bodice and shoulders of this illusion gown are delicate from a distance (hello, ceremony), but kind of disco up close (yes, dance floor!). — Lauren Iannotti

I know Deco is oh-ver, but I can't let go and neither, apparently, can Jenny Packham. Since I happen to be built like a 14-year-old boy, I love that the beading pattern on this dazzler goes horizontal at the hips, and and vertical on the thighs, giving the appearance of lady-curves. (Also, it's just so darn pretty.) — Lauren Iannotti

This hits so many cool bridal trends right now: color, volume, leafy print, deep-V neckline, high-low hem. That it nails them all in one dress without seeming too-too is a testament to Elizabeth Fillmore's skill and restraint. Perfection. — Lauren Iannotti

Personally, I'm hoping that the pants-as-wedding-dress trend is here to stay and I love how Houghton Bride designer Katharine Polk worked traditional bridal details — ivory, a pretty bow, floaty chiffon, an A-line silhouette — into a midriff-baring baby doll top and wide-leg trousers silhouette. It's modern and (sorta) classic at the same time. — Fawnia Soo Hoo

For her spring 2016 collection, Monique Lhuillier brought a little red carpet glamour to her her "Alice in Wonderland"-inspired collection. The delicate beading and embellishments create enough sparkle without going over-the-top and the three-quarter sleeves counterbalance the possibly scandalous deep plunge in the front. Plus, the skirting is grand enough, but still allows for comfort and movement (and hopefully ease while visiting the ladies' room). — Fawnia Soo Hoo

My jaw seriously dropped when this Angel Sanchez dress hit the runway last week. I love how it's cool and modern — thanks to frost-like 3-D beading at the shoulders, the architectural handkerchief tulle layers, the geometric cut-outs at the side and back — but also soft and feminine. If I could get married again (to the same person, ahem), I'd totally wear this dress. — Fawnia Soo Hoo

A look from the Vera Wang spring 2016 bridal collection. Photo: Vera Wang
A look from the Vera Wang spring 2016 bridal collection. Photo: Vera Wang
This Vera Wang bandeau-top and feathered ballgown skirt set is quite possibly the most badass wedding look ever. Granted it takes some daring (and the right type of wedding) to pull off all-black and a bare midriff for your special day, but this whole look is breathtakingly gorgeous and sure to be unforgettable. Plus, you really could wear this wedding outfit again as a set or as separates — maybe even to someone else's wedding, Jenna Lyons-style. — Fawnia Soo Hoo

The shape of this Lela Rose gown is so clean and minimalist that you can't help but put all your attention on the exquisite corded lace work. And the bride wearing it, of course. — Fawnia Soo Hoo
