Kylie Jenner Covers 'Interview' Magazine in a Golden Wheelchair

Kylie Jenner Covers 'Interview' Magazine in a Golden Wheelchair:

Most members of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, it seems, are game for a provocative fashion shoot, especially when it's either for a magazine cover or can be construed as art. (See: Kim Kardashian posing for Paper and Love.) Kylie Jenner — a budding beauty entrepreneur whose first lip kit sold out in a matter of seconds on Cyber Monday — is the latest sister to star in an artsy, sexy and semi-nude editorial, with three separate covers for the December/January issue of Interview magazine.

In the shoot by Steven Klein, Jenner poses in a gilded wheelchair, wears head-to-toe patent leather and assless chaps, is carried around like a sex doll and lays in a wooden, coffin-like box. It recalls some of Klein's most satirical shoots centered around the topics of plastic surgery and the vapidity of modern society (like "Makeover Madness" from a 2005 issue of Vogue Italia), making the images even more surreal — and surprisingly self-aware.

Considering Jenner's over-the-top online persona on Snapchat and Instagram (where she boasts over 43 million followers), fans might assume that she's as wild and vain as her posts often suggest, but the accompanying interview attempts to dispell that notion. In fact, she admits that she's been the target of bullying — both online and in real life — and that her worst fear is "waking up and finding something bad about [herself] on the internet." But she lets the haters be her motivators, and hopes to one day have a successful makeup line (although she "hates" wearing such heavy makeup and getting dressed up all the time) and start a few more businesses before one day "going off the grid" to a Malibu farm and raising chickens. Goals.

Read the full story with Jenner on Interview's website, and look for the issue when it hits newsstands in the coming days.

Online consignment site Vestiaire Collective might be as good at raising money for charity as it is at raising money for its own growth. For its second-ever celebrity charity auction, it's has some of the most stylish women in the world selling their stuff, from Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o and U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson, to Chanel muse Kiera Knightley and the perennially flawless Diane Kruger. Not only are they ladies who frequently appear on international best dressed lists, but they're also selling exact items that have landed them on said lists. We remember Nyong'o's Miu Miu mini skirt (which she likely got for free as a former face of the brand) and Kruger's Dion Lee dress in particular.

Meanwhile, Caroline Issa is selling several items that have presumably been street style-shot too many times to be worn again, and Lena Dunham is giving up some extremely cute and colorful dresses by (her friend) Rachel Antonoff, Lanvin and Dries van Noten. Watson's vertiginous Dior heels struck our fancy, and Olivia Palermo, Dree Hemingway and Charlotte Olympia Dellal are offering some great stuff, too.

The auction begins Thursday, Dec.3 and will be live for 12 days only. Proceeds benefit Women for Women International, which helps female survivors of war support their families by giving them job and health training. Vestiaire may have a lot of competition in the online consignment retail space, but when it comes to celebrity charity clothing auctions, this is among the best we've seen. See below for some of the best items (Knightley's were unavailable at press time, sadly) that will be available, with prices.

Kendall Jenner Kicks Off the 'Love' Advent Calendar in a Sexy Shark Costume

Kendall Jenner Kicks Off the 'Love' Advent Calendar in a Sexy Shark Costume:

It's the most wonderful time of the year — Love Advent Calendar time! Known for gathering the most social media-savvy models, actresses, "It" girls and momagers to prance around for short, comedic clips in various states of undress, the annual holiday project from Katie Grand and co. kicked off on Tuesday, and the first video features none other than Love favorite (and former cover girl) Kendall Jenner.

To end the year that brought Left Shark into the collective consciousness, it seems appropriate (if not very silly) that Jenner is seen sneaking around a California backyard in nothing but heels and a Hammerhead costume, eventually scaring the living daylights out of another version of herself who’s taking a shower in a black bikini. Yes, Jenner’s acting skills leave a lot to be desired, but she sure looks like she’s having fun — and that’s what the spirit of the season is all about, after all.

Stay tuned throughout December for daily installments from the long-awaited Love calendar, and watch the 2015 premiere above.

Everyone Got Bored and Changed Their Hair for the American Music Awards

Celebrities usually change up their hair a bit for a red carpet, but at the American Music Awards (AMAs) on Sunday night, it appears that some had simply had it with their usual styles, debuting some major new looks just in time for the holidays. Or else they were all punking us and wearing various types of hairpieces and everything will go back to normal today. Let's analyze.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid's chop. What's even real?? Photos: Jason Merritt & Rabbani and Solimene Photography/Getty Images
By far the most shocking (I use that as a relative term, obviously) change came courtesy of Gigi Hadid, who may or may not have lobbed her hair. She played coy about it, telling Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet that she should "check back tomorrow" because of the "tricks of the trade." After spending way too much time zooming in on pictures of the back of her head, I can say that if it's a fob (faux lob), it's one of the more convincing ones I've seen. But nothing is real in Hollywood and it would really surprise me if Gigi gave up her signature bombshell waves. Weirder things have happened, though. Also, it looks really great and she should actually do this if it's all just a lie.

Kendall Jenner

Is that Kris Jenner coming out of a time machine or is it her daughter, Kendall Jenner, with bangs? The latter — maybe. It's easy to make clip-in bangs look convincingly real, but this could totally be a genuine cut. Only time — and Kendall's future Instagram posts — will tell.

Joe Jonas

Joe Jonas has been slowly easing his way into a jar of aqua Manic Panic over the last few weeks, showing off a shock of blue here and there. But last night he fully committed to mer-person hair, perhaps because he heard his ex, Gigi Hadid, was also changing her hair. Gigi still wins.

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani debuted a real doozy of a red carpet look Sunday night, to which her hair played a supporting role. While her platinum color has been a signature since the '90s, she does change the style a lot, but this is a departure from her usually razor sharp edginess. A quick review of recent red carpet and paparazzi photos shows that in the last month Gwen has been favoring styles with a ton of volume at the crown, culminating in this full Priscilla Presley/late '90s Madonna/Jenny McCarthy hybrid, which is also more golden than usual. Is it the country influence — and the genre's well-documented fondness for big hair — of new beau Blake Shelton? Who knows, but Gwen can really do no wrong.

Ariana Grande

Probably not real. Photos: Kevin Winter & Franziska King/Getty Images
Probably not real. Photos: Kevin Winter & Franziska King/Getty Images
Ariana Grande almost never changes her hair. But during a performance last night, she took a departure from her usual bronde ponytail with this rich mahogany brunette style that cascaded in waves with no ponytail holders in sight. It is likely not real. The fullness at the back of the head and the bobby pins all scream "wig," but it really changes her look. If her hair ever heals from the damage she's talked a lot about, she should try a deeper brunette color. Or she should just do whatever she wants. It's her head.

15 Looks Worth Talking About from the American Music Awards

Awards Season doesn't officially kick off until the new year, but thanks to the American Music Awards on Sunday night, we have one more wild red carpet extravaganza to analyze before 2015 comes to a close. Though the evening was (sadly) Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Rihanna-free, the rest of the biggest names in music were in attendance, including fashion industry muses like Ciara, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. As is customary at the AMAs, attendees opted for party-ready looks that were either sheer, sparkly, scandalous, or some combination of the three. Music-focused awards shows also seem to be a prime venue for stars to wear lesser-known designers on the red carpet, perhaps due to the "anything goes" dress code situation that's implied at these things.

After taking some time to digest all of the wild (and very naked) looks we saw on Sunday night, we rounded up all of the ensembles worth talking about from the 2015 American Music Awards. See our choices and commentary in the gallery below, and let's discuss.

Since marrying Prince William in 2011, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, has rarely spoken in public. But on Wednesday morning, the often seen (but rarely heard) Kate Middleton gave a public speech about child mental health at the Place2Be Headteacher Conference titled, "My Head Is Too Full," in London. (The Duchess is a patron of Place2Be, an organization that offers counseling services in schools.)

In front of a crowd of senior leaders from Place2Be partner schools, the Duchess explained: "I often get asked why I decided to spend time highlighting the mental health of children. I imagine my answer might be similar to many of yours. I know that I was lucky. My parents and teachers provided me with a wonderful and secure childhood where I always knew I was loved, valued and listened to... I have seen time and time again that the roots of poor mental health in adulthood are almost always present in unresolved childhood challenges." See, Kate? That wasn't so bad.

For the occasion, the Duchess wore a gray wool dress with jeweled collar and sleeves by Matthew Williamson — a nice bit of publicity for the British designer, who recently downsized his business. Middleton previously wore the dress at the 2012 premiere of "African Cats" with the same exact green clutch and shoes — a suggestion, perhaps, that she's just like the rest of us. Tattoo Artist Bang Bang Spills Secrets About Inking the Fashion Set in His New Book

As with fitness instructors, hair colorists and astrologers, fashion people tend to be a bit cultish about their favorite tattoo artists. You've likely heard of Scott Campbell — known for inking the likes of Marc Jacobs, Kanye West and Olivier Zahm — who's moved his primary focus to fine art in recent years, and Dr. Woo, the unofficial go-to guy for the international blogger set, with Chiara Ferragni and Emily Weiss among his clientele. But perhaps the most buzzy name on the ever-popular body art scene is Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy, the New York-based artist who counts Cara Delevingne, Jordan Dunn, Kylie Jenner and Katy Perry among his loyal clients — and has an Instagram following that's surpassed 1 million.

At this point, McCurdy is a celebrity in his own right, and the Delaware-born artist  — who got his start by inking friends in his mother's kitchen 12 years ago — has a shiny tattoo studio of his own on Broome Street and a brand new autobiography, "Bang Bang: My Life in Ink," which was released on Wednesday. In its pages, McCurdy not only reflects on his very humble beginnings, but also gives fans an intimate look behind the mysterious persona he's built. Plus, thanks to the friendships he's formed with his big-name clients, readers get a glimpse at his surreal day-to-day existence, which includes making house calls on private planes and getting personal invitations to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. (This year, he was on Selena Gomez's guest list.)

"There's so many extreme lengths I'll go to [in order to tattoo someone]," McCurdy told me at his book launch. "If they ask, I'll do it. I've gone on tour with Katy Perry; I've gone to the Dominican Republic to tattoo Rihanna; I've flown to Panama for Justin Bieber and I've tattooed Cara Delevingne in the middle of the night in a hotel room. Any request, I want to fulfill." While McCurdy insists that these favors are not limited to his celebrity clients, he does credit them to helping his business grow to where it is today.

When asked about trends that are particularly popular among young, fashionable women today, McCurdy paused. These days, people trust him to create a unique design, he said — but that more often than not, their inspiration is initially sourced on Instagram. "We'll get trendy requests or some based on my social media posts, but we stick to that style, not that exact tattoo," he explained. "We steer the ship." It doesn't hurt that his famous clients tend to let their freak flags fly when it comes to his work — for instance, he is the man behind Delevingne's "bacon" tattoo and the delicate lion head inked on her pointer finger.

Considering that many of his customers make a living off of their looks — and a few, like model Ruby Rose, are covered head to toe in tattoos at this point — it's not surprising that McCurdy's gotten some, well, feedback from agents and the like. "Sometimes the manager is there, and they're like 'Really?!' and the answer is, 'Yeah! Yeah, really,'" he said. "Because they want it and it's 'them' — it doesn't negate their talent or ability. Tattooing is decorating your body, it's defining your fashion and we welcome it. As long as we're designing it and coming out well, we want to do it."

This is What Jennifer Lawrence Will Look Like Once Her Dior Contract is Up

Come 2017, Jennifer Lawrence will be free from the three-year, $15-million contract that has demanded that she wear Dior, exclusively, for major red carpet events. This means that the 25-year-old actress will soon have the opportunity to wear clothing other than the floaty, ultra-femme cupcake dresses that now comprise 95 percent of her formal wardrobe. Occasionally, though, Lawrence will rebel — Girl on Fire, Katniss Everdeen-style — and break away from the Dior machine to slip into something a bit edgier, and it's those looks that have all the fun.

At the New York premiere of "Mockingjay, Part 2" on Wednesday night, Lawrence rolled up in a decisively non-Dior dress by — wait for it — Schiaparelli Couture! It was, for lack of a better term, fucking awesome. During the recent "Mockingjay, Part 2" press tour, Lawrence has worn five Dior gowns, one Ralph Lauren gown and now, one refreshingly sexy (and slightly goth) number from the newly resurrected French fashion house. With a romantic, sheer bodice, peekaboo Eres bralette and layered necklaces, this was a far cry from the princess-y looks we've seen her wear on red carpets past. While much of this can surely be attributed to Lawrence's newish styling duo of Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson, it's clear that the more contemporary styles suit her. It makes us psyched for her post-Dior era, when knockout looks like this can become the rule and not the exception.

WWD is reporting that Self laid off up to 15 editorial staffers on Thursday. A source close to the magazine confirmed to Fashionista that layoffs occurred, but did not specify a number.

On Wednesday, Condé Nast announced that the company was combining Self and Glamour's sales and marketing teams under the direction of Glamour Publisher Connie Anne Phillips, and that Self Publisher Mary Murko was departing as a result. According to WWD, however, Thursday's layoffs affected only the editorial team — across the fashion, features, art, production, copy and research departments, in addition to the bookings editor and business managers. The digital team and senior staff remain.

A spokesperson for Self did not confirm the news to Fashionista, but released the following statement:

"Since relaunching in March, SELF.com has exceeded growth expectations. We are making strategic decisions about resources to support our digital and social platforms while maintaining the integrity of our print product."
