A planned Super Bowl benefit concert by Prince and Erykah Badu was canceled last night in Dallas, with frustrated fans wondering what prompted organizers to halt the pricey event. Tickets to 'TheEvent' fundraiser -- organized by The Goss-Michael Foundation, an arts group founded by George Michael and his longtime partner, Kenny Goss -- were selling for up to $1,500 before the cancellation, the Associated Press reports. Organizers of the ill-fated event said the ticket costs would be refunded. There was confusion on Friday when the concert was first switched to a different venue, then an announcement came the event was canceled, only to be followed by another announcement that the benefit was back on. No other information was given until Friday night when guests arriving at the event were told the concert was not happening after all. A source close to Prince told AP that organizers never arranged for transportation for him and his band. 'Prince is extremely disappointed that the organizers, the Meridian Entertainment Group and the River Alexander Group ... were unable bring him and his band to Dallas,' the source said.
