Robyn Lawley Becomes First Plus-Size Model to Appear in 'Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit' Issue:

On Wednesday, plus0size swim brand Swimsuitsforall announced it had taken out an ad in the annual Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit issue, which would make Ashley Graham the first plus model to appear in its pages.

Well, Sports Illustrated has stolen her thunder: It tapped size 10 model Robyn Lawley as one of 2015's Rookies, making her the first plus model to officially appear in the Swimsuit edition. Australian native Lawley is stunning in an orange and python teeny bikini, and seems super excited to grace the pages of the legendary mag.

We're not hugely surprised SI decided to feature a plus size model this year, as interest in capturing the growing plus size market increases across retailers; a third of the Swimsuit edition's readership is made up of women, so it makes sense to appeal to the consumer. And as fellow plus size model Candice Huffine scored a coveted spot on the Pirelli calendar this year, it would almost be strange of Sports Illustrated not to diversify the body types featured.
