American Apparel gets approval for bankruptcy loans.
US Bankruptcy Judge Brendan Shannon approved a loan of $90 million for American Apparel to reorganize its finances on Tuesday. Just the day before, the ailing retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. {Bloomberg}
David Yurman reveals first color ad campaign.
David Yurman enlisted photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott to shoot its holiday campaign, featuring models Kate Moss (a longtime face of the brand) and Anna Ewers. And for the first time ever, the campaign was shot in color. To give a little bit of history, David Yurman has only produced black-and-white ads, lensed by Peter Lindbergh, since 2001. {WWD}
Layoffs hit Gilt Groupe.
Gilt Groupe is cutting 45 staffers in an attempt to become profitable by next year. CMO Clay Cowan and head of international business Marshall Porter are among those departing, and neither will be replaced. {TechCrunch}

In an effort to make Sydney a global fashion capital, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia will now occur in May instead of April and will focus on resort collections instead of fall. Adidas unveils 3D-printed performance footwear.
On Wednesday, Adidas unveiled the Future Craft 3D, a sneaker with a 3D-printed midsole for individualized cushioning. While still a prototype, the goal would be to provide customers with the option of instantly getting a 3D-printed running shoe that would match the exact contours of their feet. All you'd have to do is walk into a store and run briefly on a treadmill. The future sounds amazing, right? {Adidas}
