The Pope's visit to New York is expected to have an impact on the city's retail landscape, although it remains to be seen whether it'll be a positive or negative one. Moda Operandi launches phase one of its Flagship concept.

Luxury e-commerce site Moda Operandi, which raised $60 million in venture capital earlier this year, is kicking off phase one of its flagship concept with British brand Burberry. Mirroring the shop-in-shop concept of high-end retailers, the site will have the label's entire spring 2016 collection available for preorder on Friday. Dolce & Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta will also be available Oct. 7 and Oct. 19, respectively. {WWD}

Nike's stocks rise, thanks to first quarter sales.

After Nike's first quarter sales exceeded analysts' estimates, the company's stock rose 8 percent to $124 in after-hour trading on Thursday. Revenues rose 5.4 percent to $8.41 billion in the three months ending Aug. 31, exceeding analysts' estimates of 3 percent. {WWD}
